September is ‘Pet Smile Month’ and veterinary practices across the U.K. will be promoting dental healthcare. As part of this promotion, Darwin Vets are offering a free dental health assessment for your pet – and a dental ‘goody’ bag. Contact the surgery to book an appointment now.

Smelly Breath

Dental disease is one of the most common diseases in dogs, cats and rabbits. Unfortunately this painful, debilitating and potentially life-threatening condition still goes largely untreated. If your pet has smelly breath then read on, the anti-social breath is just the tip of the ice-berg.

Dental Disease

The tartar which builds up on you pet’s teeth is full of harmful bacteria, and it is these bacteria which cause bad breath. Worse than that, they invade the body, resulting in pussy infection and inflammation around the teeth, and infection of organs, such as the kidneys, liver and heart. Any of these conditions can ultimately result i0n a premature death.

No-one likes a trip to the dentist, but if your pet receives regular dental care it will have:

  • Decreased dental pain;
  • A decreased risk of kidney disease;
  • A decreased risk of liver disease;
  • A decreased risk of heart disease;
  • Better smelling breath.

As a result, your pet will be happier, with a better quality and quantity of life.

How do I sign up for a Pet Smile Dental Assessment?

It’s easy, just phone the practice to book an appointment. The first step to improving your pet's life is to recognise the disease – and during September this will cost you nothing.

If the vet or nurse thinks that your pet requires dental treatment, then you’ll be safe in the knowledge that we:

  • Have state of the art dental machines;
  • Use only the most modern anaesthetics;
  • Have a strong pain management programme for dentals;
  • Offer pre-anaesthetic blood tests;
  • Monitor anaesthetics constantly throughout the dental procedure;
  • Offer free post-dental consultations, to tailor a dental regime to your pet.

Don’t forget: If your pet is over 2 years old, or has smelly breath, then statistically it will be suffering from dental health problems. Let Pet Smile Month put the smile back on your pet’s face. Book an appointment today.
